Hello fellow island dwellers, let's get together and buy a cow. Once we get a few interested folks, we can do it. Then, an island BBQ might be in order!

Hi all,

I'm sorry, I haven't been posting as much to you lately. But I'm in the process of getting 1/2 of a veal and wouldn't be too shy about sharing some of that. This is a pastured animal, no cages and I tell the whole tale on the Oakland Dimond list. In short, supporting the pastured veal movement gives these animals a life as opposed to immediate extermination at birth.

Sorry to get grim, but if you love veal but felt it wasn't right to eat, read my posting on the other list and let me know if you're intersted in sharing at all! A half runs 60 to 80 lbs., so a quarter would be 30 to 40, 1/8 15 to 20 lbs.

Sorry! I should have clarified that it's a total order of 30 chickens. Each of us don't have to get 30 : )

Hey, all,
Our site is experiencing some difficulties. If your comments are disappearing or your home pages are freaking out, please rest assured that I'm working to figure out what's up.
Best,

Seems we need to join the San Leandro group to join in their purchase. Can we all do that and join in what they've already got set up? I'll go ahead and do that now.

Yes, we are all in - who will take the lead on this?

Anyone in this group intersted in joining us on a cow purchase? We definitely need some more to join in, shares from 1/16 to even 1/8 or more if we get more people. (Lynn from San Leandro group though half of us are in Oakland.)

Those of you that are interested in joining the San Leandro group with purchasing a whole cow, start checking out our comment wall. We're moving along with it now. You'll have to join our group to comment, but that's not a big thing. I believe we have 3 - 1/8th shares open.

Hi Alameda,
I'm part of the San Leandro group and we're starting to talk about getting a cow. Maybe we should join forces?
