I'm looking to buy natural chickens, pheasants or other foul. Not sure if there is a "season".

I finally got some freezer space so all i need is some great meat to stock it with - any good deals on lamb, chicken or beef coming up? I can host a pickup site in Palo Alto if needed.

Hi Sarah, Welcome to the group. We have not made any group purchases yet. Someone with knowledge/initiative has not stepped forward. I am only familiar with buying lamb and will start a discussion about lamb for January. We need help with organization if you know how to do it!

I just joined this group and am interested in making a purchase -- any type. Are there any meat purchases being organized now? Thank you, Sara

HI! I'm Mike and just joined the group (i.e. - I am still figuring out how this works). I would be interested in buying into a portion of a cow (specific cuts to be determined) if anyone else in interested.

It is usually around 270 for a whole lamb .... I think $7 / lb. You can check out Mel's blogspot at:

My family eats a ton of lamb as my hubby cannot eat beef. I normally buy a whole one for the family at a time. what is the price and approx weight of the lamb you get?? I'm gonna ask my mom about the lamb tounge and I'm up for chicken too.

Hi Kathryn!
I post a supplier who sells lamb each month (except during winter) but I am yet to get a huge chicken order. It is on my to do list to contact some companies like Marin Sun to see what the min is and then to see the interest in the group (unless anyone else wants to do this research?). As far as tounge, also a favorite of my mom's and mine so I would go in with you if we could find it. I can get lamb's toungue if your mom can substitute!

I just joined and am in search of beef tounge. I know, you all are either laughing or grossed out! It is my mom's FAVORITE and if I want to buy it at Whole Foods they said I had to buy a 30lb case...and that, my friend, is WAY too much tounge for anyone. so, if you have one you would like to sell OR maybe you need a recipie- i have 2 french ones- let me know. Meanwhile, i'll be lurking to get some chickens and lamb.

Hi Jessica,
I emailed several coworkers but haven't gotten any interest yet. I will continue to check in about it. Unfortunately we aren't getting lamb this month because we're leaving on vacation the weekend after Mel's delivery.
