Hi All,

We are doing a harvest in time for the holidays. If you are interested in 100% grass-fed beef please contact me ASAP. I will need to receive your deposit by Nov 11th for this harvest and to offer this year's pricing. We sell cow shares at whole ($5.49/lb). half ($5.80/lb), and quarter ($6.00/lb). This pricing is based on the final NET weight of your share and INCLUDES the butcher's fees! We make it as simple as possible. You may visit our website at for more information. My direct phone number is 510.482.4420 x238.

Reza, my ranch is in Morgan Hill and the nearest butchershop I deal with north of me is in San Jose. Maybe if several in your group were interested in purchasing lamb(s) coming to San Jose and picking up the meat after processing could be done by one person.

I've yet to see any lower haight specific emails sent out on this list.  The last couple deals required me to travel to San Jose to pick up meat.  Is there a more general list I can subscribe to that will have more offers (given that nothing so far is lower-haight specific)?

PastoralPlate, a local meat buying club, has sent out its March Order Form. The club offers local (Marin and Sonoma) grass-fed beef, organic lamb, natural pork, fabulous heritage chickens and eggs. One of the original aspects of the club is that you can order specific cuts rather than large shares. This is all USDA and comes stamped as such. Pickup is in the castro-mission. Our url is:

We have started a meat-buying collective in sf. So far we have purchased bue which is organic dairy cow. In Europe, dairy cows are cherished and not relegated to the dogs. Some of the Bay Area's finest restaurants serve bue and much of the chopped meat we buy in normal food channels is dairy cow. We have already made three purchases and the members reported the meat was extremely tasty with several levels of flavor. Since these cows are grass fed, the meat can be lean and therefore needs to be cooked as such. One of the good aspects of the club so far is that you can order the cuts you want rather than having to take traditional parts because they come with the cow. This is all USDA and comes stamped as such. Pickup is in the castro-mission.

Godfrey Family Farms is doing an impromptu Chicken Run this weekend (5/15), fresh chicken, pasture-raised, natural and fantastic. Taking orders now, we'll only have about 50 total and they'll sell out fast. Email Rose at speech (at) . Email to order and to get specifics on drop off locations.

Chickens are roughly 4.50/lb--they'll be priced by the bird based on weight and will average 3-4 lbs. You can specify smaller or larger and we'll try to accommodate as best we can.

We are taking orders now for our grass-fed and finished beef that will be ready for pick-up (possible delivery) in early June. We finish our beef on grass located on the ranch 10 miles west of Jamestown. This year is shaping up to be an exceptional feed year which will produce a better marbled finish. All our beef is hormone and antibiotic free and raised only on our open pastures. Our website should be up and running soon . You can call Steve or Jeannie @ (209) 984-5600 for more info or to place an order.
