Hello everyone -

Just heard back from Chaffin Farms. It looks like we're not a big enough group for our own CSA at the moment. If you know of others who might like to join our group, please direct them to me and/or our group. I will send out a message on the Weston Price yahoo group as well to see if there is interest there. Any other thoughts or feelings?

Here's the email they sent back to me.

"I have added you to our bay area buying club email list so that you will
know when we are heading that direction and where we will be stopping. We
don't usually pick up new drop off locations unless they have about $1,000
in sales lined up. I know it sounds like a lot but between labor fuel, and
just overall time away from the farm that's where it pencils out for us. If
your group isn't ready for an order like that maybe it might make sense to
send someone to one of the other drop off locations until your group gets

Hi all -

I've been playing phone tag with one rancher and still haven't heard back from 2 others. I see a couple new members since we first discussed getting chickens/eggs. To the new members, can you please email me with your anticipated weekly needs of chicken and/or eggs? cindy [at] toolshed [dot] org

Hi everybody,

I'm in the process of splitting up some pigs with the Castro group. We still have about 50lbs left. If interested in a 10lb share (estimated cost $7-8/lb), please leave a comment in the discussion that I've started above. Pickup will be in the inner sunset, probably June 6th.

Hello all -

Liz - thanks for setting this up! I called Soul Food Farms today. They told me that they do not have availability of eggs or chickens. She is passing on my name to two other farms that may be able to serve our needs. I will look at the other ranchers listed on this site and see if I can't call someone else. I hope we are able to get this off the ground before too long.

Amy - you friend can definitely join. I see a link under "Members" and cows that says "+ Invite More". It will open an invitation link.

thanks for starting this group. It would be great if we could have a CSA out here in the foggy Richmond> I do love living here and we need nourishing food to sustain us!
