The Bay Area Meat CSA (BAMCSA) was founded by Bonnie Powell and Tamar Adler.  For many years, it was managed by the East Bay chapter of Slow Food. As of 2015, BAMCSA is operated and managed by Berkeley resident Sylvia Wu. You can contact Sylvia at

BAMCSA is a social networking site that enables you to cooperate with your neighbors to buy "shares" in whole animals. The tutorials and forums on this site will help you tailor your purchase of local meat so that you can buy a "share" that fits your appetite - anywhere from ten to one hundred pounds.
