1/4 is equal to around 45 lbs. This is a whole animal, so you get around 1/4 of all the cuts. That means chops, bacon, sausage (I had it done as bulk Italian, both mild & hot), roasts, hams. Most of the weight is in chops, bacon, and sausage. Now you'd be taking only a quarter., so I think you'd get 1 roast and maybe a ham. But their are only 2 hams in all (it is a pig, not a supermarket), so I had each ham cut in half with a few ham steaks cut. So chances are you could take a small ham.
I believe the final price is $5.75 a lb. but I'm waiting on the final weight measurement. Delivery date is June 5 and you'd need to come here to my house in Oakland to share it out and pick up.
Still interested and can you do this? I don't know time yet but should know something this weekend.
I'm glad to hear from you about splitting up some pork. About that hog--which parts do you want? Do you have an idea how many pounds you want? I think we're going to be pricing different cuts differently, but we have no firm claims on who gets what at this point. Here is a link to the ranch's page on cuts: http://www.winddancerranch.us/wdr-hogcutandwrap.htm
Also, where do you live? Could you pick up in either Berkeley or El Sobrante?
