No problem--so, out of curiosity, how much was your quarter, and how is the meat?

Hi Debbie,

Don't know if you're interested, but I'm trying to put together another Prather Ranch cow buy. This time 1 share=30lb (estimated cost $6-7/lb). I'm contacting a few people directly first to minimize the number of strangers (and the risk that they flake on me). Anyhow, email me with your email address and phone number if you're interested at brenng at gmail.com

Hi Debbie,

I just got your message as I did not get notified previously. I just happened to check this board. We do have a 1/4 available on a steer that will be harvested on Feb. 12th. If you are still interested, please let me know. Email me at millerranchbeef@sbcglobal.net - that way I will get it right away.
Thank you,
Kim

Debbie, thank you, but I already have 3 friends lined up to split it with me. But next time, definitely, or if you want to share on any pork purchases in January or February I would be interested. Happy Holidays!

Hi Debbie - Yes, I did get your message. It looks like both Allison and Leeshawn want 1/2 shares now. Gosh, this stuff gets complicated! I'm happy to take a full share either way. Are you enjoying the beef we just got? Thanks for helping them sort it out at Brenda's. We've been so happy with the meat.

How is the rest of your life going? How's LBS and Leo? Are you doing school tours? I hope you're staying relatively sane considering this buys time of the year. How's Veronica? Miss seeing you. Lily and I really need to get over to LBS but it's so hard to find the time. Say hi for us!

Hi Debbie,
We need to buy the pig and get it to the butcher first and that is unlikely to happen by Friday ;-)

Here is the information about pig sizes and pricing from the Godfrey Farms posting:

Availability:
We have 2 veal and 2 pigs going to the butcher the second week of December. We have 2 pigs available the last week of December.

Pricing:
All our meat is based on hanging weight (no head, no hide, no entrails) as recorded by the butcher.
Milk-Fed Pastured Pork—
Whole pork is $3.50/lb plus butchering ($65) and cut/wrap/vacuum sealed (75 cents/lb). A 250 lb pig will have a hanging weight of approximately 200 lbs and will yield approximately 120-150 lbs of meat. The end price is roughly (not exactly!!) $6/lb.
Half pork is $3.75/lb with all the above charges. The end price is roughly (not exactly!) a little over $6/lb.

So an 1/8 = 15lbs -19lbs - that is how much I am looking to get and would like to find 6-7 other people interested in taking an 1/8
