Connecting with folks wanting good quality meats

I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself - I am Lisa from Wind Dancer Ranch and I raise heritage hogs, sheep, rabbits, and turkeys. You can read about my farm and the rare heritage animals I raise at Wind Dancer Ranch so I won't put a lot of detail here. I work directly with individual families or groups of families supplying their meat. I cannot do cuts of meat since I refuse to take my animals live to a certified USDA facility - I… Continue

Thanks for the response Lisa, I probably won't be ordering the half hog until spring since I have a freezer full of beef at this time. My problem with the turkeys from the other ranches is the distance from where I live, Walnut Creek. My plan would be to visit your beautiful ranch with my little grandson and show him the animals, especially the horses (I was raised on a small ranch myself)! As far as the classes go I look forward to when you can offer them...

Hi Lisa, I'm part of the 7 who split a hog from your ranch. Sally picked it up. Thank you! I'm glad to know that we can order specific cuts and next time I will do that. The meat is very good, so next time I want to order a half hog. Does it always come frozen? As I would like to make sausage and the such to freeze for a later date. How much is the cost again? Also, I would like to pre order a turkey for next year.
Thank you for what you do.

thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately (not for me!), my sister just came back from WI with about a quarter of beef from my father's ranch! I'll have to eat some of that up before getting into some lamb.

i'll keep you in mind though-
